Skipping Back To Seattle

We landed in Seattle on Thursday, July 2nd, a bit sleepy after a rough red eye-flight, but ready for a full day of friends and fun! Our dear friend Allan picked us up at the airport and after dropping our bags at Sally’s we headed over to Portage Bay for our favorite breakfast! Twelve years away from Seattle and we randomly run into a friend at breakfast. In some ways nothing has changed – but not entirely.

That evening we had plans to meet up with about 20 friends and family for the Mariners game. We hopped on the light rail and made our way to the stadium to meet up with friends before the game. It was so great to have friends come out to see us and catch up on our quick visit to town. We had such a great time and the Mariners delivered a win! And we capped the night off with the obligatory visit to Dick’s.

Friday was a picture perfect Seattle day with the sun shining bright and people out and about enjoying this treat! We met up with friends at Fremont Brewing for a couple of beers before indulging in a fantastic meal of Indian food at Chili’s – not the chain but the south Indian restaurant located in the U District.

I find that visits to Seattle are an overindulgent mix of wonderful friends and wonderful food and this day proved to be just that. We cruised across the lake to Issaquah and the home of our dear friends Jeremy and Kelly. We enjoyed an absolutely delicious salmon dinner that was made extra special with a magic show performed by Addie! We were also blessed to meet Shane and Liz’s 2 week old baby!! So sweet.

On Saturday, July 4th it was finally time to start the real adventure, an Alaskan Cruise! We are lucky enough to be joining the Radcliff/Peterson family for a one week cruise aboard the Holland America’s Eurodam! Alaska, here we come!
